A never Ending Battle
The Apple and Samsung feud over designs and products seems to be never ending with Apple constantly accusing Samsung of stealing its intellectual Properties. The issue has now been dragged to court for at least 30 times in courts of four continents. This has been an ongoing battle that has been going on for quite some time now! Earlier Apple used to win some of these cases but lately it seems that courts have got fed up from the same hue and cry from Apple over designs and find Samsungs claims to be more powerful.
The latest News
The latest news is that Apple had again sued Samsung in Australia for infringing on their designs. The latest case is reported to be in respect to the tablet covers that Samsung has recently launched for its Galaxy tab. Apple claims that these latest cover designs are absolutely similar to what Apple had launched in the market and Samsung has released the same designs in the market after copying them from Apple. The latest feud seems to be a worrying factor for both the companies as it seems that Samsung has just blatantly copied the designs from Apple smart cover! These lawsuits definitely show that these top companies are very particular about their own intellectual properties and thus put a lot of value on them! The reports from this news are still unclear but then things will definitely clear up once the law suit progresses.
The whole Point
Everything started off with the fact that Apple claimed that Samsung had copied the design of iPad and released it in the market. This had led to a lot of mud slugging between the companies where Samsung claimed that the design was present before as well and it was almost impossible for Samsung to go with the guidelines that Apple Provided. Here are few of the conditions that Apple had sent to Samsung:
- Apple wanted that the Samsung tab shouldn’t have a rectangular shape overall! What shape are they left with? They really couldn’t have made it into a circle!
- Apple also claimed that thin rim was a part of their design and thus Samsung in no way could have used that! They suggested a thick frame structure which was unbelievable!
- Front surface that isn’t entirely flat.
- Profiles those aren’t thin.
- Front surface shouldn’t look black!
Having said all this it was Apple who had bought the tablet revolution and they had the right to keep the patent on certain items. The copying of Samsung and then delivering products that looked the same at a much lower price meant that the Apple products might have been in soup!
What to look forward too?
The feud is never ending pretty soon and it is sure that these companies are not going to leave it each other at the court! The copying is not going to stop anytime soon and Apple would keep constantly fighting for their intellectual rights. Other than that we really hope that both the companies keep rocking the market with their top quality products so that it is always the customer who is at the benefit!
