Apple and Samsung — the two giant Smartphone Makers have always been fighting over patents. Apple.Inc has recently won a jury verdict of $1.05 billion against Samsung Electronics Co. after claiming that the rival has infringed six patents for mobile devices.
The companies have sued each other in U.K, Australia, SouthKorea according to Bloomberg Industries. However, this time Apple has win-win situation. The jury found that all of the Apple’s Patents in the trial are valid. Jurors had a great patience and gave around 25 hours of evidence to each side.
Now, Apple is supposed to file its request by August 27, 2012. U.S District Judge Lucy Koh, the president of the jury, is kind enough to grant Samsung two weeks to respond. This means that the next hearing will be on 20th September, 2012.
Apple had won a preliminary ban on U.S sales of Samsung tablet. Apple not only wishes to change this ban into a permanent one but also wants to extend it to Samsung Smartphone as well.
