iOS6, the operating system to be revealed soon, has grabbed the attention of techies. All those tracking the Apple technologies are interested to find out more about this upcoming operating system. Taking this interest into consideration, we posted an earlier part of this post which covered a brief intro of iOS6 along with the Maps app, Facebook integration and the Passbook application. We have promised to discuss further features and today we are fulfilling our promise. We will start with the Remodeled Store app and move on to FaceTime. Targeting the Shared Photo Stream app , we will explore the possibilities. Finally, we will have a quick look to find out what’s inside the faster web kit. Shall we begin?
Remodeled Store:
A minor updated feature is the Remodeled Stores concept. Latest movies, music, TV shows, apps, books and other stuff will be modeled at the top of each store’s (iTunes Store, App Store and iBookStore ). Swipe with your finger and wander around in the store. Feeling interested to find out more about any item? Just tap it to learn more. Don’t forget to ‘Like’ your favorite music, movies, books or TV shows. This app can maintain your preview history and iCloud will keep your visit records up-to-date on all gadgets. So just like any other iCloud feature, start you’re shopping with iPhone and end up at your iPad. Enjoy shopping without leave the app you are in.
FaceTime :
Let us share the official description of Facetime app, as given on the Apple website:
FaceTime now works over cellular networks as well as Wi-Fi, so you can make and receive FaceTime calls wherever you happen to be. You can even make and receive FaceTime calls on your iPad using your phone number. That means you can use FaceTime wherever you are, on any device. And never miss another wink, smile, air kiss, or eye roll.
A really vague description of this app is provided at the official website. A number of questions have been raised about the connectivity issues and the supported technologies. May be Apple is trying to unify your phone number and the Apple ID; you can make a Facetime call or send a simple iMessage to a person and he/ she can respond you through call, message or email. The interesting part is, link your Apple ID with your phone number and receive Facetime calls on your Phone number. Need to see a video for further clarification?
Shared Photo Stream:
This app reminds me of the ‘Groups’ or ‘ Contact Lists’ that we tend to make in our cellular phones or through nay networking app. Shared Photo Stream allows you to share the photos with selective audience. So, now you can share your family picnic pictures with your family members only. And, what about the annual celebration snaps at your office? Come on; share them with your colleagues easily through shared photo stream app. This app lets you keep your professional and personal life separate and keep it integrated as well. This is a unique privacy feature as you are sharing with the people you want and you do not need to email them or give them in flash drives or over bluetooth. But, share it in the usual way, right from your app, and they will get it delivered to their Photos app or iPhoto. Missing the comments feature when you saw the amazing photos? You do not need to miss it because the well integrated facebook feature enables you to show you’re ‘Like’ or make a comment on it. Share freely as : Your shared photo streams don’t count against your iCloud storage, and they work over Wi-Fi and cellular networks.
Faster Web Kit:
Well, we have got some really attractive facts here. When I came across this notion ‘Faster Web Kit’, I felt little hesitated to find out more because I thought that it is a part of promotion scheme and there will be nothing special here. But, I was totally wrong as iOS6 amuses you with a much better web experience. Safari Browser will now save web pages in your Readings List so that you can continue your reading even without the internet access. The best thing about any app is to grant you access to other stuff without leaving the current app. And Safari allows you to post photos or videos to any website like Craigslist or eBay, without leaving Safari. Take a new photo, record a video or choose from your iPhoto and post it; tap the full screen icon to view the landscape without any distractions. To include formally, iCloud enables you to start browsing on one gadget and continue it on the other, from where you left off.
Some other minor features are also included in iOS6. Like you can respond a call with four different options; accept it, deny it, iMessage the caller or set the reminder to call him/her back. Similarly, a few enhancements are also provided in the Mail app such as the introduction of VIPs inbox.
A lot more is awaited this fall…till then;
Stay i-tuned! Stay blessed!
