So, today we have decided to bring this I Work Suite journey to an end. Numbers for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch lets you design spreadsheets and plan, organize, or analyze just about anything. In this post we will explore Numbers app for iPhone, iPad and iPod.Numbers app enables you to create beautiful spreadsheets with everything ready in it. It has built in tables,
Let’s start right now,
1. Make Beautiful Spreadsheets:
You can make beautifully designed full featured spreadsheets just with a few taps. Choose from the Apple well designed templates for your home, work or school tasks. Numbers app has set everything for you. You need to add your data, graphics, photos and text to make it work. Smart Zoom feature lets you edit easily by zooming in and out when you are editing and done. Don’t forget to check the Print Preview that will show you how your spreadsheet will look like when printed. Scale it to single pages, multiple pages or use the auto-fit to scale it automatically. You can also view page boundaries and add page numbers. Continue reading to find out more options waiting for you in the Numbers app.
2. Create Intelligent Tables:
In any subject that involves numbers, tables are a must. Tables help us represent information in a compact and organized manner. Sometimes, you need them to show the relationships between two quantities and at other times you are presenting your work schedule and some minor details through tables. Numbers app has taken this into consideration and therefore, facilitates you with pre-built tables. You can choose the one that is more suitable for your purpose and customize it. Insert or delete columns, rows or cells with a tap of your finger. Add header rows to entitle each column and footer rows to find totals or averages, as you have done in Ms Excel spreadsheets. Double tap to edit a cell and it will let you enter data and create formulas.
For your ease, however, there are over 250 built in functions that help you manage calculations more easily. I was surprised to see such a large collection of formula covering most commonly used calculation tools. I think this list is worth sharing,
- Date & Time (23)*
- Duration (8)
- Engineering (21)
- Financial (37)
- Logical & Information (11)
- Numeric (42)
- Reference (17)
- Statistical (70)
- Text (22)
- Trigonometric (15)
*Figure in brackets shows the number of formulas in the respective category.
3. Insert charts, photos and shapes:
What is data representation without charts? Incomplete! Do represent the information in tables using the Apple designed 2D and 3D charts. Select bar, line, area or pie chart template and customize the color scheme in accordance with your spreadsheet. Tap it to add labels, insert titles or any other information. You can choose set of data from the tables and add it to your chart. For better illustrative purposes, you can changes the values in cells using the slider to view the changed results. And if you want to change data more precisely, use Steppers. Steppers let you move arrow up or down to make increments or decrements in the cell. You can set the minimum and maximum values, and this feature will be a real help in statistics or engineering topics. Increase the visualizations of your spreadsheets by inserting photos and shapes.
4. Enter Data as you want:
Now this is something interesting…you can play with the text as well in the Numbers app. This productivity app allows you to track anything on regular basis, you want. Whether it is your gas mileage or it is the attendance sheet in the classroom. It sounds alright when you talk about gas mileage, but the idea of maintaining attendance sheet sounds weird, isn’t it? This is possible with Numbers app because you can view any table as a form. Tap a cell and make a list of choices like present or absent. You can link several tables to conclude any useful results. You can customize these pop ups and get them ready at your service. Numbers automatically updates each row as you enter information. You are not restricted to some integer values or characters only, but you can display currency, percentages, time, symbols and a lot more in any cell. Merge multiple cells or change the fonts, colors etc. Set your table in an order or hide rows and columns. All you need to perform your task is already there.
5. Share your Work:
Keep your spreadsheets organized in folders using the document manager. Import and export Microsoft Excel sheets using the Numbers app. You can save your Numbers spreadsheet as an Excel or PDF file so that anyone can view it. Oh ofcourse; you have the complete right to share your work. Firstly, Numbers app keep your draft updated at all iOS devices and you do not need to transfer spreadsheets from one gadget to another. You can also have a print copy of your sheet. Share your spreadsheets with anyone on an iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, Mac, or PC — including yourself. You can send and receive files via email. Transfer them through iTunes. And print wirelessly with AirPrint.
Stay i-tuned! Stay blessed!
